For today’s prompt, write an imagined life poem. The imagined life could be your own, or imagining a life for someone else–like a person you see at the bus stop, grocery store, or library. If for yourself, the imagined life might be another possible parallel outcome or a possible future (for better or worse).

Here’s my attempt at an Imagined Life poem:
“If I Had Said No”
If I had said, “No,” I’m sure, I might’ve cried
far less often, and there’s a chance I’d have
found fewer opportunities to second guess
myself, and maybe I’d even be way closer
to the normal person I know I am not, but
if I had said, “No,” I know, for one hundred
and ten freaking percent, that I would’ve
found fewer opportunities to laugh and
surprise myself, and maybe I’d be closer
to the normal person I know I am not, but
if I had said, “No,” I’m not sure that I’d be
any happier or more full of life; in fact, I’m
darn near certain I’d be miserable, which
is why, I continue to always say, “Yes.”
