She is Seeking: Serene is actively seeking YA (all genres but in particular: sci-fi and fantasy with a unique hook, realistic YA with diverse characters), upmarket women’s fiction, and anything that gives voice to those whose voices are underrepresented and/or marginalized. Stories dealing with the Middle East and the variety of immigrant experiences out there will definitely catch her eye. Intriguing female characters are also a huge plus. For nonfiction, she is seeking humorous and fascinating memoirs, and is particularly interested in LGBTQ and feminist issues.
