Literary Agent Alert: Sarah Gerton of Curtis Brown, Ltd.

Literary agent spotlights (with this spotlight featuring Sarah Gerton of Curtis Brown, Ltd.) are golden opportunities for new writers because each one is a literary agent who is likely building his or her client list.

About: Sarah grew up in small-town Minnesota amidst several siblings, many pets, and even more books; then headed east to study English and political science at Wesleyan University. She earned a certificate in publishing at the Columbia Publishing Course, and started at Curtis Brown, Ltd., in 2015 as assistant to Elizabeth Harding and Katherine Fausset. She’s excited every day for the chance to bring great new books to the world. Follow her on Twitter @SarahGerton!

I’m seeking: Sarah is looking for fiction and select narrative nonfiction for YA and MG audiences. While fantasy is her first love, she’s eager to read anything for teens and tweens—from literary to commercial, horror to memoir, as long as it has distinctive writing and unforgettable characters.

How to submit: Please email query letters to sg [at] cbltd.com, with the first ten pages pasted in the body of the email.
